“Alix's greatest asset as a trainer is her passion for horses and her open mind, allowing her to meet each client and horse where they are at.
With clarity on the why and how, she has a gift to break down your goals in achievable smaller steps and she always welcomes your questions.
This allows you to understand the training process as well as to nurture the horse's trust and physical integrity.”

Alix Poinsot was employed to train my daughter Anabel to ride (9 until 16yrs old) and school our horses at our home.
Alix has a true passion for horse welfare and gave us the enthusiasm to deepen our knowledge and understanding of horses. Through Alix we discovered an interest in natural horsemanship, homeopathy for horses, natural feeding and good saddlery. She was an excellent teacher who motivated my daughter, requiring dedication and hard work to achieve goals.
Alix also helped support and train a school show -jumping team I managed. All the children trusted Alix and enjoyed training with her. She has a skill to instantly assess the horse and rider. The team were very successful under her guidance. She also gave us advice on buying suitable horses and assisting on selling them when they were sadly outgrown.
Alix has amazing intuition not only with the horse but also the rider. She explains things well and has a great deal of patience. She has a wealth of knowledge which she continues to develop by analysing and exploring different techniques through books, internet and workshops from around the world.
I would highly recommend Alix as a horse trainer and teacher of riding for any age group or ability.

Alix taught me for approximately six years on three different ponies, schooling Digby, our present horse several times a week prior to competitions. Alix gave me regular dressage lessons, enabling me to advance in dressage to an Elementary level. Digby won the novice unaffiliated national title in dressage in 2010 and was 2nd the year before.
We are now successfully competing at affiliated dressage, winning at novice level and working at elementary. Alix helped with cross-country training, showjumping, and her schooling was essential prior to shows to give us a winning edge. Alix was my instructor for the pony club dressage team and the schools showjumping team where we won at county shows. Alix has been a fundamental part of both Digby and my progression from beginner to highly successful competitor, giving us both endless support and a leg-up for the future.

Alix Poinsot is, without doubt, the best trainer I have had the priviledge of working with. I have an Arab gelding, who I got as an unbroken and virtually unhandled 7 year old. I had ridden since I was a child, competed at endurance, helped many of my friends regain their confidence, but had zero experience with youngsters or unbroken horses. A recipe for disaster. My horse was very sharp, and it got to the point where I was terrified to ride him. I had reached the conclusion that I would keep him as a pet which is when I was introduced to Alix, and this was the turning point.
Having agreed that my objective was to be able to hack out safely, ride on the beach, load in the trailer and ride out with friends, Alix recommended a tailormade plan which consisted of groundwork, lunging and ridden sessions. Every session is different and challenging, working on aspects that require attention at that point of the training. To further complicate matters, Izzy developed a chronic disease, which would leave him aneamic with a compromised immune system and tightness in the muscles. Alix has worked closely with the vets and has “x-ray vision” as she sees the problem starting before the blood tests, which means that we are able to take action before it gets too severe.
Groundwork has been fundamental. Exercises to promote deep relaxation within the horse, combined with a type of “equine pilates” to promote balance and correct muscle development has made a huge difference to Izzy’s physical and mental wellbeing. He is happy to work, but more importantly, is able to do so.
Alix has a thorough understanding of horses’ behaviour, their needs and has an incredible ability to train them in a relaxed, clear and consistent manner. She is passionate about their mental and physical wellbeing, and this is clearly demonstrated when every horse that she works with willingly follows her everywhere. Alix’s never-ending patience with my nerves, support and encouragement means that I now have a lovely relationship with my horse and am achieving the goals that we set.
A huge thank you Alix!

I am an FN Trainer C of the German Equestrian Federation and have worked with amateur horses and riders in Germany for many years. My principles are firmly rooted in classical riding and in a deep respect for the horse as a partner. My expectations regarding horse-friendly handling, thoughtful gymnastic development, and ethical training are high. At the same time, I am very aware that the correct and sustainable education of a young horse — especially with regard to mental balance, confidence, and long-term soundness — requires more experience and sensitivity than I can offer on my own.
It was therefore a great stroke of luck to meet Alix Poinsot in 2021, when I was looking for a stable and a trainer for our four-year-old warmblood gelding Casscadetto. From the very beginning, Alix’s approach stood out through her deep respect for the horse’s individuality, her focus on age-appropriate training, and her ability to strengthen the horse’s mental stability and trust in humans. I entrusted Alix not only with the education of Casscadetto, but also with the training of my daughter Hanna.
Over the following years, Alix’s calm, consistent, and horse-centered way of working profoundly shaped both horse and rider. Casscadetto has developed into a confident, relaxed, and motivated horse who approaches new tasks with curiosity and trust. At the same time, Hanna has grown into a sensitive, considerate, and responsible rider who understands that true horsemanship is based on communication, patience, and partnership. Together, they have built a foundation for a lifelong relationship — one that goes far beyond performance and is rooted in mutual respect and understanding.

When we came to Alix three years ago, we were very much at the beginning.
My daughter was 11, our horse had just turned three and we were complete beginners. It was our first horse. We had no experience, had already made some mistakes, and were simply hoping to finally “get it right.”
What we needed was not performance optimization.
What we needed was: guidance, relationship and understanding.
Instead of creating pressure or pushing for quick results, Alix focused from the very beginning on what is often missing today: connection before performance. Body awareness before control. Understanding before mere functioning. Especially with a young horse and a young rider, this is essential.
It’s not about getting something “out of” the horse, but about allowing a connection to develop through body language, presence, and subtle awareness. In a time when performance is often placed at the forefront, Alix shows us that true development grows from relationship. And that stability is not created through pressure, but through trust. She guides us as a family through a process that goes far beyond traditional riding lessons. Today, my daughter and her horse are a true team.
What sets Alix apart is not only her extensive professional knowledge, but her holistic approach. She sees both horse and rider as one system. She works calmly, clearly, and without ego. And she creates security without fostering dependency. For us, she is the perfect guide! Especially because we don’t just want to learn, we want to truly understand.

I am incredibly grateful for the time, support, and care Alix has given me and my horse over the years.
From the very beginning, Alix has always put the horse’s wellbeing first, which is something I value deeply about her approach. Every lesson, every piece of advice, and every decision she makes comes from a place of genuine care and respect for the horse. She has taught me so much about understanding horses as individuals and building trust, rather than solely focusing on results.
Alix has helped me grow enormously as a rider. Her lessons are always thoughtful, clear, and effective, and she has a way of explaining things that makes even the most difficult concepts easy to understand. Thanks to her patience and support, I have improved both my position and my confidence.
One of the things I am most grateful for is all the help Alix gave us when we were looking for our first horse. It was a big and sometimes overwhelming decision, but having her guidance throughout the whole process made all the difference. She took the time to understand my goals and what I was looking for, and helped us find a horse who has become not only a wonderful partner but also a much-loved member of our family.
Most recently, Alix helped me and my horse prepare for our first show jumping competitions. All the training, advice, and support she gave us beforehand helped us both feel confident and ready on the day. Having her guidance throughout such an important milestone made a huge difference, and I am incredibly grateful for the role she played in that experience. I am very happy with how everything went and so appreciative of all the time and effort she put into helping us get there.
Now that my horse is with Alix, it is such a comfort knowing he is in the best hands. She takes incredible care of him and is always there to help with every aspect of horse ownership, whether that is training, management, or simply offering advice and guidance. What stands out most is how attentive she is to even the smallest details. She notices changes that many people would miss, which gives me complete confidence that his happiness, health, and wellbeing are always her priority.
I am so grateful for everything Alix does, not only as a coach but as someone who genuinely loves horses and cares deeply about both horse and rider. Her knowledge, patience, and support have made such a positive difference to our journey, and I feel very lucky to have her as part of it.

Y no me equivoqué.

¡Gracias, Alix!

Alix has been working with six of my horses, and her impact has been truly remarkable. I found her at a time when I was feeling desperate: one of my horses was extremely challenging, and every trainer who had tried to work with him before had been unable to manage the situation. As time passed, it was becoming a real catastrophe for me, because the horse was not receiving the age-appropriate training he needed. When Alix first took him in hand, I was amazed at how dramatically he changed emotionally after just one session with her.
Today, that same horse is comfortable to live with, safe, and well developed physically. What I value most about Alix is her ability to clearly see and explain the connection between a horse’s physical condition and its behavior. She has a deep understanding of biomechanics and can accurately recognize when a horse is physically unable to perform a certain exercise. Instead of pushing through resistance, she identifies the real limitation behind it. Most importantly, Alix always has a clear, thoughtful plan for how to improve the horse’s body and abilities step by step.
Working with her has completely changed my perspective on training, and I am deeply grateful for her professionalism, sensitivity, and dedication.
