Balance is key to my work.
As riders, we must first develop a balanced seat so that we can:
Follow the horse’s natural movement
Influence the horse’s balance as training develops
A horse that loses its balance can become tense, anxious or insecure. For this reason, the horse’s natural balance must first be re-established under the rider’s weight and then gradually improved through appropriate, beneficial exercises.
Balance is not only physical. Horses are extremely sensitive to our emotions, so we also work to develop a calm and balanced emotional state in ourselves.
Finally, helping each horse requires a balanced and flexible approach to training. Classical principles provide the foundation, but the way we apply them must adapt to the individual horse, because every horse is as unique as we are.
